Product Overview
Cedar Rotary Paddle Level Switches use a continuously rotating paddle to detect the presence or absence of bulk materials inside storage vessels. Under normal conditions, the paddle rotates freely. When material reaches the paddle, the motor stalls, activating an internal switch that sends a level signal to the control system.
This simple yet highly reliable operating principle makes rotary paddle switches one of the most trusted technologies for high-level, low-level, and intermediate point-level detection across numerous industries.
The Cedar range includes both Standard and High-Temperature models, allowing reliable operation in conventional storage applications as well as elevated-temperature process environments.

FAQs
What is a Rotary Paddle Level Switch?
A Rotary Paddle Level Switch is a point-level sensor that detects the presence or absence of bulk materials by monitoring the rotation of a motor-driven paddle.
Can it be connected to a PLC?
Yes. The output can easily interface with PLCs, alarm systems, conveyors, and other industrial automation equipment.
Can it be used for both high and low level detection?
Yes. Depending on its installation position, the switch can detect high level, low level, or intermediate material levels.
Does it require frequent maintenance?
Very little. The simple mechanical design provides a long service life with minimal maintenance under normal operating conditions.
Where can it be installed?
The switch can be mounted from the top or side of bins, silos, hoppers, storage vessels, and processing equipment.
What is the difference between the Standard and High-Temperature models?
The Standard model (BL-108) is intended for normal industrial environments, while the High-Temperature model (BL-108HT) is designed for applications involving elevated process temperatures where conventional sensors cannot operate reliably.
